Veterans Day

Originally called “Armistice Day” due to the end of the war to end all wars, now the eleventh of November is Veterans day.

Whether you picked up the torch willingly, or were conscripted into it, thank you for carrying it and passing it off. Someday I hope that future Soldiers earning their orbital drop wings can view the present day rifle toting dogs of war with the same sort of naive outlook that the present generation looks at the continental pike formations, or Hoplite warriors.

It is sad to think that today the world once again stands on the shaky political structures that led to world war one. Here’s to hoping we don’t have another major war any time soon.
